Principal's Welcome

Happy Summer Woodcreek!

I would like to start by saying congratulations to the class of 2014.  Our students continue to make us proud. A culmination of the competitive calendar had our students bringing home some impressive hardware in the form of trophies and banners.  Our Track and Field relay team of Colton George, Alex Rotteveel, Tyus Williamson and Aspyn Walton won the state championship for the 4x100. This was the first greater Sacramento area team to win the event in over 26 years. Congratulations guys!  Our Sportsman Club also can claim state championships.  The team won 1st place in Trap and in Sporting Clays.  Also, Jack Garbolino-Mojica won the individual all-around state championship.  What an amazing feat for all our Sportsman Club competitors.  And I couldn't move on without congratulating and thanking Sportsman Club Coach/Advisor Kelly Mayo and Head Track Coach Marco Hanan.  Both of these hardworking educators give their heart and soul to their programs.

Although Woodcreek High School is proud of the tremendous academic reputation we've earned, we are equally proud of the many ways we support students in pursuing their passion.  I’d like to extend my appreciation to the parents who give so much to the school.  Booster parents from all our programs and those who sit on our Site Council and other program advisory boards really enhance the quality of the school.  It is an honor to work in partnership with such a caring and supportive community.

Transitioning to the 2014 – 15 school year is keeping us busy through the summer.  By now you've probably driven by the school and notice the stadium field and track replacement project.  We’re looking forward to the 20 Year Homecoming Celebration on September 19th as our grand opening.  We also are looking forward to our best academic year ever.  Our Advanced Placement program enrollment is up for the sixth consecutive year and this follows our highest year of test takers and total number of tests taken.  Our UC/CSU course requirement rate is nearly 80% of total graduates for the 2nd consecutive year and we've added a Chinese (Mandarin) course to our curriculum.  It is little wonder why Woodcreek’s ranking as one of the top schools in the country continues to rise.

I hope you all have a fun and productive summer.  Get some recreational reading in and spend time with family and friends. I look forward to seeing you all in August.
